Description

Whether you go to Kol Nidre because your mother asked you to or because that is what Jews do, to talk to God, or because it is a good place to meet single men/women, we want to welcome you “home” to your Jewish family. Come alone or with a friend. We’ll be glad to see you.

The service includes traditional elements presented in the “Adventure Rabbi” style. For example, the service will include some, but not all of, the traditional prayers. Rather than recite all the prayers, we attempt to focus more deeply on the ones we do say.

A spiritual pinnacle of the night is chanting Kol Nidre outside beneath the stars. We can’t promise that a fox will run through the center of the circle in the middle of chanting Kol Nidre like it did our first year, but it certainly was amazing!!

This is one of the only nights a year in which one of our rabbis delivers a full sermon, giving us plenty to think and talk about.

If you do not wish to handle money on Yom Kippur, please register in advance. If you would prefer to pay at the door, please arrive early so as not to miss the opening of the service.

Curious about how we are different from other Jewish congregations? Here’s a link to watch:

Description

Welcome to a  reflective retreat, limited to 40 participants, facilitated by Rabbi Korngold.

The heart of our time together will be group discussion, individual and small group work, gentle yoga, and strolls on the beautiful camp trails.

We use our time together to sincerely face the questions Yom Kippur asks of us: Who was I this year? Was I the person I most want to be? How will I be in the year to come? Rather than sitting in synagogue listening to someone preach, we reflect, discuss, journal, and when appropriate, share our hopes and intentions for the year ahead.

Past participants have called this the pinnacle Adventure Judaism experience because it combines Jewish practice and outdoor experience in a deeply transformative way.

What people say about the retreat

You build such tremendous community -- providing comfort, vision, compassion, a sense of common purpose, and mutual responsibility and dependence.- Noah and Phoebe
This was by far the most meaningful Jewish experience of my life. I can't believe how deeply I connected with people I did not know a week ago. And it wasn't false, pretentious, or woo-woo. You are an amazing facilitator. Thank you for all you do- Stephanie O.
As Adventure Judaism has grown and grown, I want to thank you for keeping this one program small. I truly appreciate the intimacy of it.- Paula
Thanks for creating such a fantastic alternative to traditional services. Our family connects with doing it the Adventure Rabbi way!- Pam
