Topic Details: Are science and religion mutually exclusive? The new atheists (Sam Harris, Christopher Hitchens, and others) seem to think so, but Rabbi Jonathan Sacks, former Chief Rabbi of England, believes otherwise. "Science takes things apart to see how they work. Religion puts things together to see what they mean," he writes in The Great Partnership: Science, Religion and the Search for Meaning.

In this ground breaking, fascinating book, Sacks argues that science and religion are not mutually exclusive, but must, in fact, complement each other if we're to make meaning of our lives and our purpose – and place – in the world. Join us to read, discuss and argue about excerpts from Sacks' book in this first installment of Torah on Tap with Rabbi Jordie.
